My name is Ryan Patterson. I am the owner of Gradedstakes.com. I’ve been a horse racing fan since I was a child, frequently visiting my local tracks, River Downs and Turfway Park. I’m currently attending the University of Cincinnati. I plan to enter law school upon completion of my undergraduate studies in Political Science. I hope to own horses someday. My dream is to win the Kentucky Derby. Might as well dream big, right?!

The main focus of my blog is to discuss horse racing news, and to cover stakes races.  My work has been published in Stride Magazine, and on the Blood-Horse website.

Some of my other interests include politics, college football, college basketball, MLB, and the NFL. I’m a die hard supporter of my home town football team, the Cincinnati Bearcats. I grew up rooting for the Maryland Terrapins in basketball (don’t ask why),  and I am now a fan of the Memphis Grizzlies as they drafted my all time favorite Maryland player, PG Greivis Vasquez. Other teams I root for are the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Cincinnati Reds.
