Carolina Chant (30-1): This is a bit of a crazy pick, but when you like a horse with odds this long even a little bit you have to swing the bat. The four-year-old has made 14 starts and I typically write them off at this point. I’m willing to make an exception on the basis that the rest of this field is terrible. The son of War Chant made a big move forward last out to be second for $16k and with a slight move forward again he could easily win this $20k maiden claimer. I’m going to look for him to sit a nice stalking trip under Wilmer Garcia. Remember; no guts no glory.
