Horse Racing Games

Being a fan of both horse racing and video games it should come as no surprise that I take great joy in playing two of the best horse racing games on the internet. Those games, HorseRacingPark and Digiturf, are very challenging as well as exciting. Each game has its pros and cons, but I can assure you that both are worth playing in the long run. Let’s take a quick look at some of the features of these virtual horse racing games.

Many consider HorseRacingPark the best horse racing game on the internet. The game affords players the chance to race for real money or play for free. Gamers have a chance to make serious cash racing virtual horses there. Every type of person young and old from former jockeys, casual fans and even those not familiar with horse racing have experienced success in the virtual world of HRP.

Top earner Dynark Stables picked up $25,669.38 in purses last year and his career earnings stand at $82,355.26. It doesn’t take a big wallet to get to the top either. Dynark is a personal friend that I’ve known for years and he hasn’t made a deposit since I’ve known him. He has built his stable by reinvesting winnings into auction purchases and claims. There are many like him, but of course many like myself who prefer to get a check for their winnings.

I first joined HRP in 2006 and have been fascinated by its depth and realism ever since. The best part about this game is that it follows real horse racing down to the letter. Every jockey and track that you can find in real life exists at HorseRacingPark. You will find tracks like Saratoga, Del Mar, Belmont, Gulfstream, Churchill Downs, Keeneland and Santa Anita just to name a few. Famous jockeys Garrett Gomez, Ramon Dominguez, John Velazquez, Mike Smith, Joel Rosario, Calvin Borel and countless others are available to ride your virtual horse to victory.

Because the game has real tracks and jockeys it shouldn’t shock or surprise you that sires like Storm Cat, AP Indy and Street Cry are available to produce colts and fillies for your barn. Not only are they around, but historic sires like Man O’ War, Secretariat, Northern Dancer, Mr. Prospector and many more can be scooped up if you are lucky enough. Mares inlcude the likes of Bayakoa, Classy N Smart, Better Than Honour and more.

When the horses you buy finish racing you can breed them. Top sires stand for around $50 a cover. Sires like Charley Farley sell out 20 covers a quarter which works out to $4,000 a year for his owner, Yahudi Stables.

Racing at HRP includes every stakes race you can imagine. They have the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, Belmont Stakes,  Breeders Cup Classic and virtually every stakes race that exists. Purses for these races are on a 1:1,000 scale. Therefore, the $5 million Breeders Cup Classic is worth $5,000 at HRP and so on and so forth.

One of my favorite parts of HRP is the auction and the newly added private sales. The auction is held four times per year. Great horses like 2008 Kentucky Derby winner Half Spirit and 2010 Travers Stakes winner Five Fives were picked up at auction. 2010 Hollywood Gold Cup winner Sword of God was claimed out of his first race for $1.50 and went to earn $895.39! Owner Dynark Stables took Miz Liz from a claiming race for $92.50 and she has gone on to win four Grade 1 races and earn $2,681.10 along the way.

I could spend all day raving about how great this game is, but I suggest you check it out for yourself. Be sure to sign up through this site by clicking one of the links above or the banner at the top of this page. Doing so will get you 5 free horses instead of the 2 that you would normally receive. Digiturf

Digiturf is very similar to HRP, but for much more money. Watch the video below to learn more and click the banner above to join the site!

As an owner and trainer of a virtual horse at Digiturf you will have the opportunity to earn serious amounts of cash. In 2012 they will be offering over $1 million in purses. Yes, that’s right. $1 million in real, cold, hard cash.

Three championship races worth $150k each are available. That’s more than some real life graded stakes races! You will find races like the Kentucky Derby Classic, Dubai World Cup, Met Mile, Hong Kong Gold Cup and many, many more at Digiturf.

The graphics at Digiturf are incredible. You wont find anything like it anywhere else on the internet, or on console games. Stunning visuals really help bring out the best in the game.

Horses are available through purchases at the sales ring, auction or via claiming races. The best way to get in on the action is to try the sales ring. You could wind up with a cheap claiming horse, but if luck is on your side you might get the next six figure earning champion.

Digiturf has been audited by an outside firm known as Gaming Laboratories International. All races are completely fair and the ownership of the site has no vested interest in the outcomes.

Don’t take it from me though; check out Digiturf for yourself today!
