We COLD decked the Pick 5 at Del Mar on Friday!

I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical to tackle Del Mar this year as it is my first time doing so full time.

Thankfully, it’s working out beautifully thus far. Friday July 29 marked our first real breakthrough where the turf meets the surf. Sure, we had done well before that day, but this one really marked our first big success at the California track.

We nailed the first 5 winners in a row and ended up with 6 on the day and a second place finish on the 8 race card. Let’s recap.

Race 1
Bauble Queen ($5.80) : Love her maiden breaker last out. She moved way up on synthetic which leads me to believe she will like the turf here. Even without that indicator she is royally bred to like the weeds.
Pick 5: 3,4/3/1,4,6/4/8,9
Race 2
Warning Song ($3.40): On recent form he will be very, very tough to take down.
Race 3
Jet Set Girl ($19.60): Should love the move to turf and her works are strong.
Race 4
Gutshot Straight ($4.40): He’s the speed of the speed.
Race 5
Carmichael ($18.80): Hard to knock him off that last effort. He’s a different horse.
Pick 4: 9/ALL/1,4/6,7,10
Race 6
Renegade Storm: Favorite looks tough to beat.
Race 7
Bourbon Bay ($6.60): Not sure how he will handle the main track, but we know he loves to go long.
Race 8
Cali Gal: Pender/Bejarano have had success together.

As you can see our top choice won every leg of the Pick 5 which paid $2,464 for a buck. Our advertised ticket cost $18 which makes for an extremely nice return, but brave players willing to take a shot could have hit it for just a single dollar. That’s odds of 2,464 to 1. Good luck finding that somewhere else.

The Pick 6 returned : $51,995.60 with 4 our of top choices winning in the sequence. What’s more we had every single leg of the Place Pick All except the last race as our top pick and that bet brought back a hefty $951.10 for a buck.
